Granite Boulders, East Dart River by Lawrence Dyer

This is one of my more recent river paintings. Particularly in the spring time I like to paint the rivers as they become bathed in the strong light. It's always a challenge to realistically paint how the water's surface reflects and interacts with the light, but here I think I've managed it.

The river Dart runs through dartmoor; this scene is of the East River Dart as it meanders through a wooded area.
